I am so lucky to have the honor of photographing Lyla, the first girl of a family of 4 brothers. It seems not so long ago, we captured this family’s maternity photos, as well as baby girl as a newborn and at 6 months.

Lyla was so sweet in her blush tulle dress and coordinating headband. Mom looked beautiful in a sheer floral sleeveless dress. Both of these were borrowed from our Client Closet.
CAKE SMASH
After getting great shots of the family with Lyla, it was time to get some fun solo photos of the birthday girl. She loved showing off her standing skills and her adorable personality simply shines in these images. Just look at that smile!
A quick wardrobe change and baby girl was ready for cake. She was curious about the little balloons and then decided to test the cake. I think she liked it!

Mom chose to do a special, more feminine session with her daughter Maia. She was extra cuddly with mama which made for some sweet moments. At this age, their personalities start to shine and baby girl was so proud to show off her sitting up skills. Just look at those gorgeous blue eyes and rosy cheeks, she’s a natural!

Mom joined her looking simply gorgeous in a sheer dotted dress borrowed from our Client Closet. After getting so many beautiful photos of mom and Lola, dad and big brother Dominic decided to join in on the fun! You can just see the love this family has for each other in each of the images.
And just like that, it was time for cake! Baby Lola was excited to test the special little treat made just for her. Big brother got in a little kiss, so adorable!

3 Tips For A Newborn Session With Siblings | Newport Beach Newborn Photographer
You are expecting your second baby and dreaming of your sweet babies together in beautiful portraits you can cherish forever. After years of experience and hundreds of sessions, I have some tips and tricks up my sleeve to get those timeless portraits we are known for.
LET GO OF ANY EXPECTATION
First and most important, children can sense our energy as parents. If we remain calm and don’t get frustrated with their behavior, we can get them to warm up and enjoy the experience.
Taking breaks with the bigger siblings and giving them some time to play will help them adjust to the environment. We try to keep the mood light and fun!
I’ve been around hundreds of children and have seen it all. Your toddler/child’s behavior can be unpredictable, but don’t worry, it will not surprise me. Being patient and flexible, I will help them enjoy the experience and get some great shots in the process.
SAFETY
I always take into consideration the safety of the newborn and will never force a child into a position with the baby that they are uncomfortable with.
Sometimes, we just get a photo of the sibling touching the baby and that’s ok. We meet your child where they are based on age, mood, behavior, etc.
REWARDS
I always suggest bringing a favorite item or treat that will entice your little one.
If needed, I also have a treasure box of goodies that can help keep them engaged.
Often times as parents, trying to force the kids to look at the camera can seem boring to them. It is much easier if we get authentic interactions, in addition to some posed shots. The goal is to capture that special bond between siblings.

SIX-MONTH SESSION IN STUDIO
Six months is my favorite age because you really start to see their personality shine through. Those little giggles when you make a funny noise. The way they lay and reach for their tiny toes. So adorable!
Mom, Dad and big brother chose to join Magnolia for her photoshoot. Baby girl was so precious in her cream sweater set…just look at that beautiful smile! Dominic’s happy grin shows how proud he is to be a big brother. It was just wonderful documenting the love this sweet family has for each other. I'm so looking forward to capturing this special year for this loving family!

Baby's First Year Collective Celebrating One Year in Newport Beach Studio
Baby's first year collectives are so special because I have the honor of watching the baby (and siblings) grow before my eyes. I get to know the kids as they become comfortable in front of the camera and I often feel like they are family.
As a baby's first year member, if you choose to do 4 sessions in a year, you have the option of a cake smash in the studio AND a separate outdoor session.
Amanda and Alex chose to design an album documenting Ryleigh's first year and plan to do the same with their son's portraits as well.

HOW MUCH WILL YOUR BABY GROW IN ONE YEAR?
It's hard to imagine when you are in the thick of one of the fastest years of your lives, but your precious baby will grow before you know it.
That is why it is so important to capture those moments that document their personalities and the special stages they go through, the flashes of time you never want to forget.
The early days with your little one can be a blur. That tiny newborn curled up in your arms will be sitting up in the blink of an eye. Before you know it, you will be chasing after your sweet baby wondering where the time has gone.
WHY DO A MILESTONE SESSION?
Because your little one grows so quickly, a milestone session capturing each unique stage is so important. At our 3-4 month sessions, baby is mastering tummy time. The 6-9 month sessions are referred to as sitter sessions because they are just learning to sit up without assistance. At 1 year, they are crawling and/or standing on their own when propped.
Our baby’s first year collective features family portraits, including hair and makeup for Mom and wardrobe for the entire family. We offer this full-service experience because we know life with a little one can be busy. Our client closet offers a wide variety of beautiful options for Mom, kids clothing and little girls hair accessories, and shirts for Dad. We take care of scheduling the hair and makeup artist so Mom can relax and be pampered before her session.
As quickly as this season passes, you will cherish the time you took to document these wonderful memories.

One Year Milestone Portraits In Newport Beach Studio | Baby’s First Year Collective
We all know how fast the first year flies by, which is why most parents choose to do our baby’s first year collective. This collective includes 3-4 sessions (sometimes Mom’s choose more) to document those important milestones for baby.
Mom decided to capture solo portraits of Emily celebrating her first birthday. She looked so sweet in her own cute little pink dress, monogrammed diaper cover and bows that Mom brought to the session.
It was such a joy capturing Emily having so much fun posing for her session. The birthday girl’s happy personality just radiates in all of these beautiful images. That little smile is so precious!
These one-year milestone sessions have become a favorite for parents and help ensure that they have beautiful memories to look back on.
