All Dad needs is a pair of khaki pants and shoes- we have plenty of shirts in different sizes and styles for him to choose from.
Planning the Location
Choosing a location can be hard! There’s a lot more that goes into it than picking a place that’s pretty. It needs to make sense for your family. We consider the age of your children, the season and what time your session would need to start if it’s outdoors, your wardrobe preferences, and ultimately what the final look will be and how that goes along with the color scheme and decor in your home.
If you’re a Collective member, we plan a lot of this from the beginning so that your sessions are cohesive throughout your baby’s first year. For some families, they choose to do all studio sessions, others mix it up and do both studio and outdoors.

No need to find a hair and makeup artist that you've never worked with and hope you like what it looks like. As a mom, I know how overwhelming the idea of putting together an album is. You want so badly to have your memories printed, but with a long to-do list and your hands full, when will you have the time? Not to mention, the idea of narrowing down your favorites feels impossible, right?

So Why Albums?
Sometimes clients will ask me whether they should do artwork or an album. And while I certainly love and think you can do a mix of both, for some people (and seasons) an album may in fact make more sense.
Albums are perfect for preserving the memories you want to hold onto but may not display on your walls. This can be for various reasons. Maybe you aren’t in your forever home or are having a hard time visualizing (even with our help) your portraits on your walls. Or, maybe you’ve just simply ran out of space. You may also just be someone that really loves albums and being able to flip through the pages.
For me and for many clients, albums have become some of our most precious keepsakes. My daughter often asks to look through her baby album or our family album from last year. She asks questions and not only am I able to tell her, but I can show her.

Preparing For Your Styling Appointment
Having a client wardrobe available to all clients is truly a dream. I’ve spent the last few years carefully curating and adding pieces for the entire family. The goal in doing this and providing wardrobe is so that you don’t have to stress over what to wear. Too often that one hurdle can prevent families from even taking portraits. So, if I can eliminate that stress and also provide options that I know you will love, it’s worth the shopping hours for me!
Part of making sure you don’t have to worry about what to wear is preparing ahead of time. Depending on the type of session, we typically have you come to the studio for your wardrobe styling appointment 2-3 weeks before your session. This allows mom the opportunity to try on different dresses and then coordinate options for the rest of the family, including dad, baby, toddlers, and big kids, too. We even have bows for your baby girl!
Once we have planned out what everyone is wearing, we’ll take a photo for you to reference and that’s it. It’s truly that simple. Gone are the days of shopping for hours to only leave frustrated and empty-handed. I hear almost after each of these styling appointments how EASY we made it for their family. Mom just has to show up with the family, bring some shoes & make sure dad has pants. THAT'S IT!
Note, that if your session is in the studio, we’ll have wardrobe pulled for you the day of your session and ready to go when you arrive. If your session in your home or at an outdoor location, we’ll bring your wardrobe to the session.
What to bring:
Nude undergarments and a supportive bra.
Shoes if you have them already and are doing an outdoor session.
Anything from your wardrobe you want to incorporate so we can see how everything looks together.
Lastly, we ask that you come prepared with photos of anywhere you would potentially like to see artwork in your home from your session/s that way we can get an idea of your overall style and color scheme. We are there to guide you in finding clothing that you will look and feel amazing in while also taking into consideration how your family’s memories will look timeless in your home years from now.
Another important part of the planning process is accounting for not only the upcoming session but ones you may do throughout your babies first year. We’ll select dresses and outfits for your family that coordinate well together so your portraits all looks cohesive. You can see a glimpse of that here with this beautiful family. Documenting Your Baby’s First Year & Why it’s Worth the Investment
Leading up to the birth of your first baby, people will tell you how quickly that first year goes. You’ll hear all of the cliche sayings and chalk it up to unsolicited parenting advice. But Mama, let me tell you…it’s so true. You may not even realize it when you’re in the thick of it, but before you know it, the sleepless nights and constant diaper changes feel like a lifetime ago.
The truth is, the baby that once depended on you for every little thing is now exerting their independence, and along the way, he/she will experience a lot of firsts. More than any other year of their life, they’ll experience milestones that you never want to forget. Their first belly laugh, their first real smile, and their first words. You’ll cheer them on as they roll over for the first time, sit up independently, and crawl. The day they take their first steps you’ll melt into a puddle of emotions- wanting to freeze time and simultaneously being so proud.
Throughout your baby’s first year you’ll fill up your phone with hundreds, if not thousands, of photos and videos. I did too (and still do). However, I also know the value of having a professional photographer document those big milestones and allow me to be IN the photos. Yes, a first year collective is an investment, but as a mom, I can tell you that the photos of my daughter and our family together are my most treasured possessions.
So what does a first year collective include and why is it worth the investment?
When you invest in documenting your baby’s first year, you get to decide how many milestones from bump to first birthday you want to document: maternity, newborn, 3 months, 6 months (also known as the “sitter” milestone), 9 months and one year. Most do 3-4 sessions, depending on when baby is born and if they participate in our annual motherhood event or Santa sessions.
For some, that sounds like a lot of sessions to do within one year, and it is. BUT, when you put a photo from each side by side and see how much they have grown in just a few months, you’ll be thankful you didn’t skip out! I promise I have created this collective with you in mind. I know just how busy that first year is and that’s why I don’t want you to have to stress over logistics or remembering to schedule your baby’s sessions.
Once you are in the collective membership, all of the logistics are taken care of for you. This includes not only guaranteeing you a spot on the calendar (particularly important for those wanting sessions during our busy season in the fall) but tracking and reaching out to you when it’s time to schedule your baby’s next session. We’ll work together after each session to choose your favorite portraits to display in your home and which ones will go in their baby album.

Why Printing and Framing Your Photos is Important For Your Kids
I recently came across a quote that said, "In 50 years, the most photographed generation in history will have no pictures." Think about that. It doesn’t make any sense, but it couldn’t be more true and that breaks my heart.
Never before has it been so easy to take photos. We have our phones attached to us with a cloud full of snapshots of things we did that day. Yet, for most, the photos sit on the phone or in the cloud and will never make it to print. Unless looking through the phone, our kids may never see those photos…and more importantly, those moments and memories.
I have to ask. What’s the point in documenting every moment. For Instagram? For Facebook? Sure, that’s fun, but if you’re taking the time to document a moment it’s likely because it means something to you. Chances are, even if they don’t know it now, it will mean something to your children one day too. Those snapshots on your phone may not be the photos you want to print large and hang on your wall, but they go perfect in an album or as loose prints to look through!

Custom Framing
Growing up, we had family photos hanging on our walls. From wedding days to baby photos, it’s how I knew what family looked like. It’s what my parents used to tell my siblings and me stories about their childhood and our grandparents. I want the same for you, for each of my clients. I want the walls of your homes to be filled with your family’s memories.
We have twenty different frame styles, handcrafted using conservation and archival materials. This means that years from now your photos will look the same as they did when you purchased them. Each comes with finished backing, built-in hangers and corner bumpers.

Albums are a personal favorite of mine! They really allow you to tell a story. Whether it’s your baby’s first year or your family’s annual portraits made into an album. Our luxury handmade, high-quality lay flat albums are designed for your family to cherish and be passed down for generations.
Our heirloom album comes in leather, linen, and suede. We have various cover options as well as hand-crafted boxes to store and protect your album.
Birth Announcements
If you’re like me, I treasure all of the tiny little keepsakes from when my daughter was a newborn. This includes her birth announcement. We’ll custom design them for you so that you can spend your time snuggling your baby! Your birth announcements will be delivered to your door so that all you have to do is mail them to your friends and family.

I recently moved into a new studio in Newport Beach and it’s only made me love studio newborn sessions even more! The best part? Having a studio has allowed me to create a space that serves my clients well. This way, they can focus on their family and sweet little baby.

Natural Light
I love newborn sessions in my studio because of the beautiful light. So often in-home sessions can be tricky because of the limited light I have. The studio has two walls of light pouring in and allows me to create the timeless, light and airy photos I am known for.
Consistent Images
Having a studio allows me to have consistent images from one session to the next. As a client, you will know what to expect, and it eliminates some of that question of what your images will look like.
Consistency is particularly important for our Baby's First Year collective clients. Over the course of the year, you'll have several sessions in my studio. This will ensure that your photos look cohesive hanging on the wall or in an album.

I know what it’s like to have a newborn and living somewhere between pure bliss and absolute exhaustion. When you come to the studio in Newport Beach, you don’t have to worry about cleaning your house. You don’t have to move any furniture, all the stuff off the nightstand or the pile of laundry in the background. You just show up, get your hair and makeup done, choose any of our dresses, and know that you will be taken care of.
It’s important to me as a baby photographer in Newport Beach to not only give my clients beautiful photos but an amazing, stress-free experience. Don't get me wrong, I love in-home newborn sessions and I offer them to my clients. They are beautiful and special in their own right. But, there’s just something about studio newborn sessions that really have my heart!

The Design + Install Process
With my interior design background and years as a Newport Beach photographer, I bring a unique perspective to your design consultation. During your consult, we will first talk about the areas in your home you may want to display your portraits or wall gallery. I’ll have you take a photo of those areas and send it to me. I am able to use that photo in a program to create a digital mockup for you so you can visualize everything we are doing.
Once we know the space we will be filling, we will select your favorite portraits to be displayed. This process can seem daunting, but I’ve found that favorites tend to stick out pretty quickly once we have a design concept and you can see them in the digital design mockup.
After we narrow down your favorites, we start looking at frames. We have over twenty different frame styles to choose from, many different colors and wood or metals that are all custom made by our professional framer. Each frame is made with UV glass, museum-quality mat boards, finished backing, built-in hangers and corner bumpers. These are custom-made specifically for you to cherish for years to come.
Once your frames arrive at my studio in Newport Beach, we do quality control and make sure everything is perfect, schedule a date to install and have them hung for you while you can sit back and relax. Clients often tell us they wish they had done these years before because of the homeyness and life the photographs bring to their home!

I truly believe that my years spent as a wedding photographer instilled in me a desire to offer a full-service photography experience for all of my clients. Now that I have transitioned to serving young families, that desire has only grown.

Or is an in-home or studio session better suited for your family? And say goodbye to stressing over what to wear! When you book a session with me, you gain access to our client wardrobe and styling tips.
After your maternity, family or newborn session, we meet virtually or in your home. I’ll show you the full online gallery for the first time. This may be one of my favorite parts of the entire experience.
With my interior design background, I'm here to take the stress off. You no longer have to be overwhelmed with selecting your favorite photos or what to do next. We will determine what heirloom products are best for your family- albums and/or art for your walls. Personally, I love a mix of both!
