Planning A Newborn Session | Newport Beach Studio
When is the best time to book a newborn session?
Ideally, during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy, but others reach out to us during their first. I always say the earlier the better. We reserve your session with a tentative due date as we take a limited number of newborns each month. Just let us know when your baby arrives and we will schedule an official date for your newborn session.
What should I bring?
Nothing! Just baby and yourself. We have everything needed in the studio for your family. From diapers and wipes for baby, to a Boppy, nursing pads, snacks and water for you. Using neutral swaddles and headbands for the baby, we keep it minimal and focused on your little one without props. We also offer a large Client Wardrobe full of beautiful high-end dresses for Mom and clothes for Dad and the kids as well.
How long is the session?
Our sessions start weekday mornings in our Newport Beach studio. While Mom relaxes with our hair and makeup stylist, I capture solo photos of baby. Dad and siblings are welcome to join us ninety minutes after your arrival. This allows for Mom to be pampered without stress. Dad and the other children will be happy to show up ready for portraits rather than hanging around while I'm taking photos of the baby. The session usually takes about 2.5 to 3 hours total.
When do we see our photos?
We get together in-studio, two to three weeks after the session to view your photos on a slideshow for the very first time.
This is where the magic happens! You get to see the design possibilities and decide how you would like to display your memories. Our software allows you to use your actual space with furniture and visualize what the portraits will look like in your home.
We will even come to your home and install your artwork. How easy is that?
