Just a few months ago, I reached out to my friend in the wedding industry and asked if she could share some tips with my Bride Tribe. So, today on the blog I wanted to introduce you to Megan, wedding planner, wife and cupcake enthusiast! She's not only amazing to her clients but with vendors, as well. She gives her clients a relaxed planning process and a worry-free wedding day. Now here are 6 tips she's going to share with us today!

From Megan:
"You’re engaged and wedding planning is in full swing — hooray! Your Pinterest feed is a constant source of inspiration, and you can’t help but pin, pin, pin as you scroll through the stunning photos. A wedding dress framed by the perfect blush wall, a carefully styled invitation suite, a bride and her bridesmaids giggling as they fluff each layer of tulle. With a little careful planning and my six tips, your getting ready photos will be just as Pinteresting!"

6 Pinterest-worthy tips for getting ready photos

1. Pretty Hanger

Invest in a pretty hanger.  Whether silk or tulle, beaded or lace, your wedding dress is a work of art, and it deserves to be displayed that way!  Even the most breathtaking dress won’t look as fabulous on a cheap plastic hanger. Etsy is a great source for decorative hangers, and a simple silk hanger is always a classic and elegant option.

2. Details

Gather all of your wedding details in one place.  From your shoes and perfume, to your invitation suite and wedding vows — these are all the details you so carefully selected, and you want those items captured!  Having these details set aside and ready allows your photographer the most time to carefully style and photograph all of your special mementos.

3. Florals

Ask your florist to include a few loose flowers and greenery when they deliver the bouquets.  Most florists will be happy to oblige, and the live blooms will give your invitation & detail photos that extra wow factor!

4. Getting dressed

Have your mom and bridesmaids dress before you do.  Mismatched outfits can be distracting and look out of place, but beautiful bridesmaid dresses will create the perfect backdrop as you slip into your gorgeous wedding gown!

5.  Location

Just like in real estate, location, location, location!  Think about the location when deciding where you’ll be getting ready.  Is a standard hotel room large enough for you and your bridal party to dress comfortably or would a suite be better?  Does the room’s decor and color palette fit the look you want to achieve?  Is there plenty of natural light?  Considering all of these things beforehand will create the best atmosphere and setting for your getting ready photos!

6. The Groom

Don’t forget about the guys!  While the men may not need as much space or time as the ladies, you still want to consider the best location for their getting ready photos.  If a hotel room isn’t the best option, work with your photographer to select a spot outside where your groom can slip on his jacket and cufflinks.
